Jessica came to help me in my breastfeeding journey at a time when I was feeling defeated and felt like I was doing everything all wrong. Instead of “correcting”me or scolding me, she told me that she was there to help and validate me. It wasn’t the physical task of learning how to breastfeed that was necessarily the most difficult - it was how to feel strong and confident in my ability to take care of my newborn while breastfeeding. Jessica helped me find my strength and my confidence as a mother.
Of course, she taught me many nifty tricks too! Such as how to get rest while breastfeeding at night, and how to help my baby adjust to sleeping at night instead of the day. Ultimately, working with Jessica made me feel so much less stressed and way more joyful in the midst of the chaos of the fourth trimester.
I’ve had amazing experiences with Jessica as our postpartum doula and lactation consultant. We were so blessed that we could work withsuch a passionate person about postpartum care, and she became a very special part of my journey as a new mom. She helped me grow in confidence and knowledge to be a “mom” while I was going through crazy ups and downs due to postpartum hormone changes. She was warm, caring, and supportive and also very knowledgeable - she is a nurse!, communicative and practically helpful in many ways.
Jessica came to our house right when we needed her to be. We were struggling very much with sleep deprivation and she just stepped in and did what needed to be done. She took the initiative to do chores and let me and my husband catch up on our sleep. She saved my sanity when I felt my life was a mess due to a new challenging role as a nursing mom. She was very mindful to look out for my needs. She never forgot to bring water and a healthy snack - including very delicious lactation cookies that she made - every time I was nursing. I felt very supported.
The greatest help that I received from her was in breastfeeding. I really wanted to do exclusive breastfeeding as much as I could, but it was very challenging at first. My boy was born with tongue-tie, and it was painful when I nursed even after a surgical cut. I cried a lot because of frustration, but Jessica reassured me with the great benefits of breastfeeding and gave me tips on positioning, baby latch, and any pains involved with breastfeeding. She always made herself available and accessible for questions and follow up. If it wasn’t for her, I would give up on breastfeeding. Thanks to Jessica I could keep on going and ended up loving breastfeeding. I am so grateful to Jesscia and will definitely recommend her to anyone looking for lactation services.
I cannot recommend Jessica enough. Even before I got pregnant I realized that breastfeeding is not as easy task. I saw many of my friends and family members unable to breastfeed their newborns for different reasons. So when I got pregnant, I knew I was going to need help. Jessica far exceeded all my expectations. Her passion to take care of moms and babies is unheard of. She came to my own house and trained me on how to breastfeed and take care of different baby needs even before the baby was born. So when my child was born, I knew what I was doing. I attribute my ability to breastfeed, swaddle, and sooth my baby to her. Not only did she train my husband and me on these things, but took care of me, fed me and watched my baby while I slept postpartum. This type of care made my recovery very smooth. During her visits she would always share some of her unending knowledge which helped me understand the science and value of breastfeeding. I’ll be forever thankful to her because she genuinely cares for the mamas and babies she takes care of. I think all women postpartum NEED a Jessica by their side.
